Upcoming President of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski holds a certificate issued by the State Election Commission that he is elected president on 2019 presidential election in the country. The official ceremony would be on May 12 at the Assembly of North Macedonia. Republic of Macedonia recently changed the name into Republic of North Macedonia after an agreement with Greece. Pendarovski, 57-year-old, was a former NATO coordinator and a counselor to two previous presidents. Pendarovski would succeed outgoing President of Republic of Macedonia, Gjorgje Ivanov.

Shortly after President Gjorgje Ivanov received the 67 signatures of parliamentarians submitted by Zoran Zaev, president of SDSM, protest erupted in Skopje. Peaceful gatherings aimed refusal of Tirana's platform and preservation of a unified character of the state.
