Hello My Name is Nick Klaus born & raised in kenya.I am a freelance photographer currently living in Nairobi.I realised my passion for photography at the tender age of ten i would cut newspaper pictures and stick them on my drawing book since i was not good at drawing,i would constantly look at the pictures and wondered what the photographer was thinking while taking the picture so i promised myself when i grew up that is what i wanted to do with my life. When i graduated from high school i moved to the middle east Dubai and got a job in a five star hotel Fairmont Hotel and Resorts in the food and beverage department, while working there i bought my first camera Sony Alpha 200 and started shooting till i was confident enough that i could do it.In 2009 i quit my job in Dubai and came back to Kenya to pursue my dream of becoming a photographer, establishing myself was not an easy task but through determination and consistency i got my first big break a renowned new york photographer Russel James got intrerested in my work and exhibited it in new york city as the most creative photographer. In october 2011 i won a photography contest in Beijing China organised by the Xinhua news agency and the united nations under the theme poverty awareness,i was the first Kenyan and the only one from africa to win that award. i have worked with many NGOs ,magazines and newspapers i love telling stories with my pictures thats why i my interest is mainly on human interest, editorial and documentaries and alot of times i shoot riots and politics.i wanna post my pictures here because Kenya is so rich with beautiful stories worth telling and i want people to have a positive outlook on Kenya and the rest of Africa.so from time to time i will be posting beautiful deep images andi hope whover gets to see my work will be moved by them....
