In Wisconsin, in Ohio, in Michigan and in Kentucky I have witnessed family members grieve their loved ones who were killed at the hands of the Police. It is hard to articulate the pain that is present even just being in the room at a memorial for a loved one who was killed by the police. There is so much that feels incomplete for these families, because of the way the individuals passed.

2020 unlike any other year during my existence has precipitated a desire of the people of the United States to advocate on behalf of the families who have lost loved ones at the hands of the police. These photos have been taken over many months, and I hope they show the faith and vitality evident in the movement that is on behalf of Black Lives. The movement has crossed states and is unique in each community, but is bound by a solidarity to make change and prevent further grief.
