According to the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police), a million and a half people from all corners of Catalunya have gathered in the streets of Barcelona to demand independence of Catalonia and create a new sovereign state in Europe. The dimensions of the event have been compared to those of 1976 when people came to ask for the Statute of Autonomy.

This morning at 12:00 hours fifty people convened by the Assembly of Teachers have concentrated in front of the Department of Education to ask to keep the number of vacancies in this group.
First has become a staging of the act of appointments like a bingo, played by a person disguised as Councillor on Education, Irene Rigau.
After a manifesto was read against cuts in education and the policies being carried out by the Government in this sector that the Assembly considers "fundamental pillar of our society." After the reading of the document, it has been formally handed over to the Department.
In conclusion, some of the people attending the Via Augusta has been cut for a few minutes.
