Tear gas clouded Gezi Park during clashes between protesters and police officers. Demonstrations took place beside Taksim Square as citizens protested against the government after a mall project that would take the place of Gezi Park was established. The protests were initially peaceful but ongoing violence has been taking place for over three weeks and continues to escalate in Istanbul, Turkey. June 2013.

Abu Saiba, Bahrain, 7-5-2013. Demonstrations continue during a week of resistance. Protesters demonstrate near the main street and stay for long periods of time, peacefully confronting the riot police patrols. Riot police attacked the protesters heavly and protesters used molotov cocktails to deter them and deny police entry into to the village.

The '"I Don't Pay" movement stated it will continue to oppose future austerity measures imposed by the Greek goverment and the IMF.

The general fear, expressed through the protestors, is that the privatisation will worsen the low level of security and environmental treatment by the industry.
There is also the fear that the citizens will be forced to pay increased fees in order to have their garbage collected. People are objecting to the governmental plans, due to the existence of the deep economic crisis. They call politicians "traitors," as well as the selfish people that sell out the public property for their own financial gain
