Abdulkhaliq Al Jawari focuses on the living conditions of a few hundred Yazidis who have taken up arms and formed an organized protection unit of fighters to protect them from ISIS attacks in Mount Sinjar (Syria).
In this photo, Safin, holding up a glass of filthy well water, explains that "this water saved thousands of Yazidi people in Mount Sinjar from dying of thirst, but others died because the water is polluted." This water in this well is a mix of groundwater and rain, and it remains even during the summer.
